Overview
The Washington State Legislature established the IMPACT Center in 1985 to address issues important to the future of Washington agriculture, food systems and the state economy. As the most trade dependent state, the future of Washington agriculture and food systems depends upon industry’s ability to respond to market opportunities and address market barriers.
While most Washington agricultural producers, processors and industry associations lack the financial strength or scientific personnel needed to solve the many technical and marketing problems blocking further expansion of their agricultural exports IMPACT can help.
IMPACT provides Washington agricultural exporters with the science and technology they need to be successful in today’s global market by utilizing the expertise of university scientists in research, education and communication to solve marketing problems and transfer technology to agricultural exporters.
IMPACT's Mission
To use advances in science and technology to improve the competitiveness of food and agricultural systems in today's global market.
